The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) yesterday (February 4th) lent its support to the government's Backing Young Britain campaign aimed at helping young people and graduates avoid the pitfalls of unemployment.
In November 2009 the REC launched a Youth Employment Taskforce to bring together leading voices in the employment sector to help provide realistic routes into work for young people - both graduates and school leavers.
Commenting on the campaign and the progress of the REC's taskforce to date, chief executive Kevin Green said: "The REC supports the aims of the Backing Young Britain Campaign and we will be using our Youth Employment Taskforce to drive the debate forward.
"As well as enhancing support to young people, the government must stimulate job creation, for example through the tax regime and by encouraging entrepreneurship."
Earlier this week the REC and KPMG published figures that showed demand for staff has grown at its highest rate for nearly three years.
