Food and drink
Recent university leavers looking for graduate jobs in food and drink may be interested to hear that Punch Taverns will make 236 properties available to graduates.
The hospitality brand, which has nearly 7,000 leased and tenanted pubs will for the first time make 236 bars and pubs available to graduates under a new tenancy agreement called the Capital Builder.
Graduates will need to invest £5,000 to secure their first pub and to become a graduate landlord, earning a rebate for every pint that is poured to make up for the initial hit to finances, the Times reports.
Roger Whiteside, managing director of Punch Partnerships, told the paper: "We're trying to see if we can attract into pubs people who might not otherwise have considered pubs as a career.
"These are people who are likely to have the right skills and passion to run a pub business but do not necessarily have the commercial experience or the funding to get sorted."
This news comes after a number of graduate employers changed the way they plan on recruiting graduates, placing more emphasis on business acumen than grades.
