Graduate job hunters may be in line for recruitment after a survey revealed the high levels of optimism surrounding the economy from entrepreneurs.
Research conducted by Investec Specialist Private Bank and the Entrepreneurs' Organisation showed that 88 per cent of business owners expect revenue from their British ventures to increase in 2010.
Buoyed by their positive predictions for the year ahead, 62 per cent said they expected to see a rise in the number of people they employ in the UK, while 38 per cent said they expect their headcount will increase by 10 per cent or more.
Ed Cottrell, of Investec said: "Our research shows that there is a high degree of optimism amongst some of the countrys most successful business people about the opportunities the current environment will generate."
There were only 333,720 graduates in the UK last year, compared to 334,890 the previous year which may mean a reduction in the numbers applying to top employers.
