Graduates can use Facebook to 'brand themselves'

Those looking for graduate jobs should be treating social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter as online CVs, according to an expert.
Fiona Hewitt, director of design agency Brand YOU, told the Independent that employers are increasingly taking graduates' online profiles more seriously when considering which applicant is right for the job.
Ms Hewitt has advised university leavers of the need to sell themselves to appear attractive in such a competitive graduate jobs market and Facebook is an ideal medium for doing so.
She told the newspaper that social networking sites allow employers to see how good a graduate is at building relationships and told job hunters to use them for "working out who you are and showcasing your talents to others".
The Graduate Recruitment Bureau (GRB) recently warned graduates that they should be aware that what they put on such sites because of their public nature.
