Published: Thursday, 20 January 2011   Category: Banking and Finance

There is set to be considerably more graduate vacancies in accountancy and professional services sectors, according to a new study by a graduate body.

The recent Graduate Market in 2011 survey, conducted by High Fliers Research, suggested that leading firms in these sectors expect to hire more around ten per cent more graduates this year than they did in 2010.

A resurgence in finance industries has been suggested by the recent launches of graduate schemes, by Deloitte and PricewaterhouseCoopers for instance.

On top of this, the survey found that three-fifths of employers expect to recruit comparatively more graduates this year, while a quarter of recruiters plan to maintain their intake levels.

Graduate Market in 2011 is the latest iteration of the survey that the firm, which researches the graduate recruitment sector, releases every year.

The statistics seem to chime with the latest study by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, suggesting that 21 per cent of employers intend to expand their overall workforce in 2011.
