A law firm in Lancashire is to create 100 new jobs as part of rapid expansion this year, which may include some graduate opportunities.

The director of Emmetts Solicitors has said the company are set to employ 60 more lawyers and 40 extra support staff members.

Emmetts law firm currently employs 20 people in Lancashire, who are based in the firm's Preston and Longridge offices. The new recruitment drive will create a 500 per cent rise in Emmetts employees in the region.

Richard Emmett, the law firm's co-founder, explained that the company's aim is to be the biggest law firm in Lancashire and one of the top ten in the north west of England by 2012.

"The next five years represent a hugely important phase in our strategic business growth and will see what we predict as a significant shift in the region's legal services sector," he said.

The legal firm, which was set up by husband and wife team Richard and Lindsay Emmett in 2004, may require trainee lawyers in graduate vacancies.
