Graduate salaries on the increase

Published: Thursday, 30 July 2015   Category: All Graduate Jobs News

Graduates matriculating from university this year will be pleased to hear that both job vacancies and annual salaries are on the rise.

Top graduate earners

Reed.co.uk recently released their newest report which highlights how graduate job vacancies have increased by a staggering 77% this year alone with the average starting salary also up by 2%.

This applies to the overall market with those graduating with an accountancy qualification and thinking of moving into the financial services sector able to expect an average jaw-dropping salary of £40,000 per annum.

Finance wizards aren’t the only graduates who can expect extra cash in their wallet though; graduate engineers and web developers can also become big earners with average annual salaries of £30,000.

Graduate apprenticeships on the rise

The survey also found an 85% increase in the number of graduates applying for apprenticeships.

This was seen as part of a plight by university leavers to refine their skills and ensure they make themselves as employable as possible within a highly competitive job market.

A spokesman for Reed said that while apprenticeships have previously been seen as an alternative to university this doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.

Instead, they are a fantastic route for graduates to take to ensure they maintain their position as top talent in their field and have access to valuable work experience.

With graduate salaries on the rise and the number of graduate roles continuing to increase, it seems the class of 2015 has plenty to celebrate.
