Graduate retail jobs from Virgin Media?
Wednesday, 17 June 2009
Telecommunications firm Virgin Media has announced that it will triple the number of high street stores it owns in the UK, a possible boon for those looking for graduate retail jobs at the moment.
The announcement comes off the back of the government's Digital Britain report, which aims to increase the number of people buying broadband services in targeting universal access by 2012.
Virgin Media's announcement could lead to the creation of jobs on a local scale, available to graduates seeking retail positions, despite the difficult economic climate meaning many companies are cutting back.
Peter Taddeo, managing director of consumer retail for Virgin Media, said: "The UK high street is under pressure from many sides, not least the challenging market for retail generally, but we have a number of exciting store openings planned."
Wal-Mart-owned supermarket chain Asda recently announced it is increasing recruitment in Scotland, providing 3,500 jobs available to those seeking graduate jobs in the country.
