Life after graduation
Employee productivity is more important to business owners than length of service, a new report has revealed.
A study carried out by recruitment process outsourcing firm Alexander Mann Solutions (AMS) has suggested 44 per cent of employers are more concerned about the volume and quality of work produced by staff members than their length of service.
The news should encourage progressive graduates, who see making a good impression within a firm as a first vital step on their career ladder.
AMS chief executive Rosaleen Blair said that an employees worth or performance was no longer determined by length of service.
She added: "Instead, performing above and beyond employer expectations and proactively seeking new opportunities or more work is the key to being recognised as a high performer and considered for promotion."
According to the AMS website, the firm works with clients to "consolidate and transform their recruitment processes, delivering an increased level of service, whilst creating significant cost savings".
