Technology firms in Scotland are desperately seeking employees with good sales skills, a new report has found.
In news that might interest those looking for graduate jobs in the sector, the Scottish Technology Industry Survey 2008 reveals that "good sales ability" is the skill most in demand for employers in the area, reports Onrec.com.
However, 81 per cent of respondents stated that they find it difficult or very difficult to find suitably qualified staff.
This is the third year in a row that sales skills have topped the list of hardest to find skills.
It suggests that firms looking to appoint IT sales staff might want to look at recruiting staff with a non-technical background and offering them the required training.
Earlier this week, the website reported comments by Rob Coates, managing director of HR firm Willerby Hill, who urged firms to make sure they do everything in their power to snap up top candidates.
