High-quality staff are at a premium and employers must do more to attract and retain workers, according to one expert.
In news that might be of interest to those looking for graduate jobs, Rob Coates, managing director of HR firm Willerby Hill, has urged firms to take action or face missing out on the best workers, reports Onrec.com
He said: "The employment market is more predatory than ever before and businesses should be positioning themselves as top employers in their sector and geographic area so that they attract and retain the best workers."
A recent report by Deloitte and Touche suggested that this year there would be more vacancies than there were people to fill them, he added.
Last week, Angela Baron, advisor at the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, recommended that people might want to learn a second language in order to boost their chances of landing a graduate job.
