Published: Tuesday, 22 July 2008   Category: Career Advice

Representatives from 23 universities in the UK have been meeting recruiters from some of the country's top companies.

The Time for Change event, organised by Bright Futures, allowed educational establishments the chance to network with potential employers and also helped future graduate jobs hunters polish their skills.

Describingon the students attending the event, a spokesperson for KPMG, said: "Extremely 'bright', proactive and career focused. They were good at getting involved in the more interactive elements of the sessions and asking questions. They were also very welcoming and keen to network."

The 23 student representatives were all from Bright Futures societies across the UK.

Meanwhile, the Association of Investment Companies has claimed that people looking for graduate jobs are seeking highly paid positions so they can pay off their student debt more rapidly.

The firm also pointed out that graduates' parents are having to forego things such as owning a car in order to meet their loan payments.ADNFCR-1068-ID-18695436-ADNFCR
