Graduates looking for recruitment opportunities could see their options improved by the news that Gala Networks Europe, the Japanese online gaming company, is to increase headcount at its Dublin base by 103.
The firm is able to create the jobs thanks to the continuing development of the European online games market and could provide a valuable employment avenue for a number of graduates.
Deputy prime minister Mary Coughlan said: "This expansion by Gala in the digital media sector is most welcome. Digital media is an exciting emerging sector and one for which Ireland is gaining a strong reputation.
"Gala's decision to expand its Irish facility further embeds the company's operations here."
Gala has had a base in Dublin since October 2006 when the Irish government helped it establish a European headquarters.
Earlier this week a spokesperson for the All-Party Parliamentary Group for the Computer and Video Games Industry in the UK urged the government to better appreciate the significance of the games industry and help promote its growth.
