Graduate job employers given recruitment advice
Thursday, 07 January 2010
Graduate job hunters in Shropshire may have seen their employment opportunities improved after five businesses were provided with workshops promoting efficient recruiting.
The Ludlow Advertiser reports that Shropshire Council's County Training team has established the Step-up Club with the aim of supporting both the unemployed and firms looking to take on new staff.
Alongside allowing graduate job hunters to gain some valuable experience of the pressures of an interview, they are additionally aided in writing a CV that fits the criteria expected by recruiters.
This gave them the chance to not only improve their interview techniques, but also the need to speak clearly and have good all-round communication skills.
Meanwhile, employers in the area were given the opportunity to attend a series of workshops looking into elements of the recruiting process, including writing job descriptions and improving their interview processes.
Writing a solid job description could prove a tough proposition for some employers as they do not want to attract unsuitable graduate job hunters, but equally will be looking for a respectable number of respondents.
