A recruitment expert has said that there are still employers looking for those with skills in the field of IT, including graduates.
First Point Recruitment believes that software development and software testing are two "hot areas" in which IT jobs are still available although the credit crunch means that companies are looking for specialised candidates, according to Onrec.com.
Those with skills in programmes such as Agile, Scrum, .Net 3.5, Silverlight and Microsoft SharePoint are particularly sought after in the software development sector, while e-commerce businesses still need IT workers to test their software.
Tom Fahey, managing director of First Point, told the news provider: "We advise candidates to focus their attention on the key areas currently seeing an increase in availability. There are still plenty of opportunities for those with the right skill sets."
A recent report by the London School of Economics said that government investment in digital infrastructure could provide employment for those looking for an IT job, including graduates.
