FDM Group launch large graduate scheme

Published: Friday, 27 May 2011   Category: Science, Engineering and IT

Leading IT firm FDM Group has announced it is going to kick off a graduate scheme which allows university-leavers to get their first step on the employment ladder.

The organisation - which has already put 2,500 people into graduate roles - is to launch a two to three month-long training scheme which will be followed by a two-year contract for graduates.

Sheila Flavell, the chief operating officer at FDM Group, said the company hopes to help people leaving university in this current climate.

"Here at FDM we realise how difficult it is for graduates, especially those seeking to break into the IT sector, to land a paid role without experience," she said.

"Our aim is to bridge this gap between academia and employment aiding graduates with valuable skills as well as paid experience."

Recent research by YouGov revealed that 95 per cent of businesses leaders said people on internships were "useful to their organisation".
