Expert offers graduates interview tips
Thursday, 20 August 2009
Lucky university leavers who have landed an interview for a graduate job can still make sure they look professional even if they are strapped for cash, according to one expert.
Fashion and beauty specialist Nicky Hambleton-Jones said that women with a budget should look in charity shops to pick up some designer bargains or get existing clothes dry cleaned or rebuffed in order to stay smart on the cheap.
She advised that interviewers will not notice how expensive a potential employee's clothes are, but if effort is taken in making sure everything looks good then they will be impressed.
Ms Hambleton-Jones recommended graduate job candidates to find a cheap hairdressers to get a blow dry "and that can just give you a great finishing touch even though you haven't actually gone out and spend money on your clothes".
Employment expert Evolutions UK recently said that well-performing students are missing out on graduate jobs because they lack skills when it comes to interview technique.
