Those having trouble finding a graduate job in the charity sector may wish to undertake voluntary work at an environmental group to improve their employability.
The Oldham and Rochdale branch of Groundwork, which aims to develop sustainable communities, said that it is currently on the hunt for graduates to join its V Challenge programme.
The scheme is a 13-week course offering management skills training through leadership of community projects in the Lancashire area as well as the experience of working in the charity sector, Rochdale News reported.
Felicity Hunt, who currently volunteers on the V Challenge programme, told the newspaper: "[The scheme] helped me to get my foot in the door at Groundwork, an organisation where I have wanted to work since my previous voluntary placement here."
Graduates looking for a green job in the Scunthorpe area may be interested to know that AbitibiBowater Recycling Europe recently announced new positions.
