The minister for skills has addressed a conference of employers about how graduate internships can provide businesses with fresh talent.
Organised by the East of England Development Agency, the event saw David Lammy promote the Graduate Talent Pool, which matches up employers with university leavers.
According to BusinessWeek.co.uk, Mr Lammy explained how, along with providing students with experience to help them into their first graduate job, internships can bring a new perspective to the table.
He said: "The Talent Pool will sit alongside the thousands of other opportunities available to new graduates that will help them improve their chances to get a long-term and well paid career."
The minister recently emphasised that there is "no doubt" that graduate skills are still needed during a speech given at a conference for the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce.
