Sarah Woodward, a graduate from the University of Derby, has seen her clothes designs come to life on the catwalk at Birmingham’s NEC.

Described as one of the UK’s most renowned fashion events, this was a dream come true for Sarah, who has always has a passion for fashion. Having an entire collection showcased on the runway is a huge achievement for the graduate and one that puts her in good stead for the fashion industry.

Having already been bestowed with an award for a previous collection, the designer already looks set to go on to bigger and better things. At the age of just 24, this is a huge achievement and one that Sarah is immensely proud of.

“Showing my collection at the Clothes Show was a great opportunity to see other like-minded graduate designs on the catwalk,” she explained.

Entitled Orenda, Sarah’s collection comprises a variety of attractive garments in picture-perfect pastel shades, including blues, pinks and creams. All of her designs were seen sashaying down the runway at the Birmingham Clothes Show.

“It's been good to have had so much interest in my collection after winning the Midlands Emerging Designer award, it's always great to see people's reaction as the models walk down the catwalk,” she said.

The majority of those asked at the Clothes Show were said to adore Sarah’s collection, especially her use of colour. All of her designs are extremely wearable, versatile, yet still on trend. Paying great attention to detail, she is able to add a little something special to each and every garment.

“I hope that my collection and the other graduates' designs have helped to inspire other young people who saw the shows,” she added.

The Clothes Show is a yearly event, which boasts an array of designer stalls, beauty demonstrations, catwalks, music performances, model scouts and trend presentations.
