In news of interest to those aiming for graduate jobs, an increase in demand for risk, audit and compliance professionals has been witnessed, it has been reported.
Figures published by GAAPweb.com indicate that those hoping to enter the finance sector may enjoy greater success if they apply for such roles rather than those in banking.
Recruiter reports that the number of positions available for credit risk analysts increased by 34 per cent over the last six months, while a 42 per cent rise was witnessed in the number of compliance specialist jobs.
Speaking to the news provider, GAAPweb.com website manager Nicola Forde said it was encouraging to see that there was still a demand for specialist roles within the industry, in light of a raft of redundancies.
He added: "We are finding that the greater focus on the industry from both the regulators and wider government has increased demand for compliance professionals and risk analysts."
Last week, HSBC announced that it would be maintaining graduate recruitment levels over the next 12 months.
