Deloitte challenges for top spot in graduate jobs list

Deloitte reached number two on the top graduate employer list, catching up with rivals PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
The business advisory firm reached the runner-up position in the Times' annual list, which ranks the top 100 firms.
It is the third year it has been achieved second place, but this year saw it tighten the gap between it and first-place PwC, with there being just seven votes in it.
Sarah Shillingham, graduate recruitment partner at Deloitte, said: "We are delighted to receive this recognition, which we believe reflects our continuous efforts to make Deloitte the country's -curly top graduate employer."
The firm also reached the number one spot in nine universities' rankings, including UCL, Bristol and Nottingham.
According to the Times, there are a large number of positions available at the firm at entry-level, with each vacancy receiving on average ten to 15 applications.
Other perks of the jobs include a £7,000 interest-free loan for graduates and "competitive" starting salaries, the newspaper says.
