Those looking for graduate jobs might be interested to hear of the success of one of the first people to complete a course designed to meet the IT needs of industry.

Christine McKibbin, who took the information technology management for business degree (ITMB) at Northumbria University has already landed a role with British Airway's (BA's) graduate jobs programme, reports the Northern Echo.

Speaking to the newspaper, Paul Binks, BA's information management manager, said: "We are delighted to have recruited one of the first ITMB graduates.

"This demonstrates that the design and delivery of the degree has been successful in meeting the needs of industry."

Developed with BT, BA, IBM, Unilver, Ford and Fujitsu, the degree offers people the chance to learn a blend of IT and business skills.

Meanwhile, a report by Reed Consulting suggests that those looking for graduate jobs would do well to work on their transferable skills and problem solving abilities.ADNFCR-1068-ID-18712655-ADNFCR
