The very best graduate job hunters should be able to secure three or four interviews per week, it was suggested today (June 1st).
A new report by office support recruiter Crone Corkill revealed that the majority of the 420 employers questioned are now increasing the number of vacancies they are offering.
Director Lee Dempster explained that while this trend reflects a wider economic recovery, companies will still be looking to take on the most accomplished applicants.
"There is still a perception among some employers that there are a large number of available candidates on the market arguably giving more choice," he said.
"Salaries have remained flat over the last few months but are beginning to recover and we have seen a return to counter offers and bidding wars."
Mr Dempster added that the banking and professional services sector has shown the biggest increase in hiring in recent months, closely followed by the legal sector.
Those sentiments were backed up last week by a Powerchex survey which showed that the number of financial jobs in the City rose by 87 per cent on a year-on-year basis in April 2010.
