News Article Published: Friday, 10 October 2008   Category: Industry sectors | Sales and marketing

Firms in the commercial media sector are working hard to show the appeal of graduate jobs in the sector, it has been claimed.

Speaking to Brand Republic, Clare Turner, sales director at Pearl and Dean, explained that the firm is looking at a number of ways to get more people to apply for positions at the firm.

"Our idea is to provide graduates with an introduction to cinema and how it fits in the media landscape," she said.

The company will also be launching a roadshow in 2009 which will be aimed at attracting people to graduate jobs with the firm and then transforming them into the "savvy communications planners and buyers of tomorrow", she added.

Lisa Ashworth, talent director at ZenithOptimedia told the news provider that the firm has reached out to graduates by offering them more information on the firm through the internet.

Meanwhile, those looking for graduate jobs in retail might be interested to know that Recruiter magazine reported that the recent success of low-cost shops such as Poundland could lead to them looking to take on more employees.ADNFCR-1068-ID-18821615-ADNFCR
