Maths graduates are in high demand in the City of London, it has been claimed.
According to research by Powerchex, only six per cent of people with maths degrees who are searching for graduate jobs lie on their CV, the lowest for any subject group, reports the Financial Times.
According to the newspaper, this could be due to the fact that people with maths skills are currently in demand in the City as financial roles are becoming increasingly complex.
People who have attended the top 20 universities as listed in the Times are less likely to have CVs which feature discrepancies than those who attended less successful institutions, the research also found.
Last week, IT Pro reported that those looking for graduate jobs in IT might want to look to the public sector.
According to the news provider, local government bodies recruit on a competency-based system, meaning that experience is not a big factor.
