Careers service 'a top work experience provider'
Thursday, 12 June 2008
Career support service Graduate Prospects has been awarded Quality Mark status by the National Council for Work Experience (NCWE), according to reports.
The industry recognition demonstrates that Graduate Prospects excels in work experience provision for UK students, reports Onrec.com.
Quality mark acknowledges work placements which consider qualities such as learning, student development, programme evaluation and company commitment.
Zoe Mitchell, human resources manager at Graduate Prospects, said: "Gaining the NCWE accreditation has increased our competitive advantage in the undergraduate work placement market, enabling us to recruit the highest calibre of undergraduates."
Other firms to have achieved Quality Mark status include Heinz, Marks & Spencer, Barclays Capital and Intel.
According to Gradplus, it is increasingly important for those applying for graduate jobs to bolster their CV with work experience.
It is claimed that with 400,000 students graduating every year "the competition is tough and you have to stand out in the crowd".
