Car parts firm Cobra UK set to offer graduate opportunities

Published: Tuesday, 14 June 2011   Category: Employer News

Car parts firm Cobra UK is set to offer a range of graduate opportunities after securing a new export contract.

Cobra UK, based in Wales, expects to double its workforce by hiring another 50 employees after securing a new £56 million export contract in Thailand, Brazil and Indonesia.

Gary Seale, Cobra UK's managing director, revealed that the firm would not have secured the contract without funding from the Welsh Government's business innovation programme.

"Our expansion simply would not have happened without the support and funding we received which enabled us to test and validate new designs and products," he said.

"It enabled us to expand our product range, increase exports and grow the business which includes plans to create 50 new jobs."

The firm, which currently supplies car interior products for Bentley, Volvo, Audi and General Motors, is also set to develop products for the aircraft industry.
