Graduate placement hunters are increasingly using the internet to seek out the best opportunities, according to new research.
Social marketing agency Greenlight conducted a study which found that UK searches for the phrase 'career advice' reached one million in June, compared to just 14,800 in March.
In addition, the company said that the City remains the main focus for graduates, with searches for 'London jobs' rising from 550,000 in March to 673,000 in June.
Interestingly, overall job searches totalled 13.2 million, which was eight per cent lower than the figure for May but almost five million higher than recorded in December 2009.
According to Recruiter, the decline could be viewed as "indicative of a time when many jobseekers and HR professionals are on leave".
Greenlight also revealed that of the 18 sectors covered by its report, retail and sales attracted the most interest in June with more than 700,000 searches.
The findings come after a report in the Express & Star last week urged graduates to send their CVs to plenty of employers in order to seek some form of work with them.
