BMW investing in UK graduate opportunities

Published: Thursday, 09 June 2011   Category: All Graduate job news

BMW Group could be creating new graduate opportunities in the UK thanks to a £500 million investment in its manufacturing operations with a focus on its MINI brand.

The luxury vehicle maker aims to improve its UK production network over the next three years in a move that will likely create graduate jobs in manufacturing, engineering and logistics positions.

Since 2000, it has invested more than £1.5 billion into its operations across the UK.

Norbert Reithofer, chairman of the BMW board of management, said: "We have started preparing our UK plants for production of the next-generation MINI and this investment underlines that the UK will remain the heart of MINI production.

"The MINI brand has made a significant contribution to BMW Group's success in markets around the world and we anticipate that this will grow further in the future."

BMW has operations all over the world, providing graduates with potential opportunities for overseas employment. In May, it sold 26,452 vehicles in the US, up a fifth on the same month last year.
