Recent university leavers looking for graduate jobs in retail may be interested to hear of the growing importance that both employers and job applicants place on digital marketing.
Lisa Wand, events manager at the Chartered Institute of Marketing, said that an exhibition at the Technology for Marketing & Advertising by the firm on digital marketing was "packed out".
She said: "There's a lot of enquiries from the audience here wanting to embark on those [digital marketing courses, both short and professional]. So whether it's a diploma or a post grad in marketing then we're here to talk to them about it.
"We've worked with the organisers to put together a whole days worth of taster training courses on all our digital marketing elements."
Some 51 per cent of marketers surveyed in a recent poll expect their own business to improve over the next 12 months, a sign that optimism in the industry is improving which could open more job opportunities for graduates.
