The University of Bedfordshire’s Creative Arts, Technologies and Science (CATS) faculties has recorded its highest level of student satisfaction in the National Student Survey (NSS) 2015.

The university is celebrating as it hits a record of 85% satisfaction – witnessing a jump of 6% when compared to last year’s result while a further three courses at the establishment saw 100% of its students satisfied with the overall experience.

Providing satisfaction to students

Broadcast Journalism and English studies received 100% approval rate while Fashion Design saw 21 out of 28 questions got 100% in the survey.

In addition to this, eight further degree subjects including Biological Science, Creative Writing, Dance and Professional Practice each were granted 90% and more for overall satisfaction.

The faculty is also celebrating after seeing its best ever results for teaching, personal development, organisation and management, assessment and feedback and academic support.

A total of six out of seven ratings were above the sector average by 2 and 5% and this outstanding performance means the university is now in the top ten for Communication and Information subjects.
It is also in the top-15 for Biology and related Sciences and the top 20 for English.

A top priority for the university

Jan Domin who was recently appointed Executive Dean of ATS at the University said he was delighted with these fantastic results which clearly demonstrate that the student experience is a top priority at Bedfordshire.

Mr Domin explained that to be recognised for such results is a testament to the way in which the staff and students work together.

A staggering 83.1% of Bedfordshire’s 2015 graduates gave their university the seal of approval which translated to the second highest NSS score since the survey began ten years ago.

The University of Bedfordshire remains one of the top-10 universities in the UK with the survey concluding that it is still a leading establishment for improving the career prospects and aiding their personal development.
