Published: Tuesday, 12 October 2010   Category: Banking and Finance

Barclays Corporate has developed a new-look graduate scheme and launched an entry-level recruitment programme, it has been confirmed.

The company is giving its graduates the chance to learn specialist skills through experience in a number of key areas of its business, such as technology, HR and marketing.

In addition, a new website has been set up to give university leavers and interns an insight into the kind of roles available and information about a career in corporate banking.

Head of HR Matt Press said: "We're building a strong graduate programme as we need a pipeline of talent flowing into the organisation to strengthen it and provide the leaders of tomorrow.

"We're recruiting specifically into particular areas which will allow individuals to develop and grow within a business sector."

The firm is planning to take on about 120 individuals for its 2011 graduate scheme, plus roughly 50 candidates for its eight-week summer internship programme.

Barclays PLC is the 21st-largest company in the world, according to the 2010 Forbes Global 2000 list.
