Graduate Job sector Reports
A new survey has found that starting salaries for accountants have undergone a substantial increase as the sector attempts to attract the best talent.
With a shortage of professionals entering the industry, graduates could find themselves rewarded financially by choosing the profession, reports Onrec
The figures, from Robert Half, found that entry-level salaries rose by some 25 per cent, with recent graduates now able to earn in the region of £19,500 compared to £15,000 in 2006.
Phil Sheridan, UK managing director of Robert Half, commented: "New regulations in the industry have resulted in a need for more professionals and have in many ways created a level playing field where both entry-level and seasoned professionals have the same opportunities to thrive and benefit financially."
Employees in this profession have the added bonus of the industry being relatively unaffected by the credit crunch due to the conditions increasing demand for their services, says the report.
