And the Professional Services Firm of the Year award goes to...Deloitte!

Congratulations to Deloitte, which has clinched the acclaimed title at the City A.M. Awards.

The company has swiped the title from L.E.K Consulting, which won the esteemed award at last year’s ceremony.

The City A.M. Awards celebrate London’s financial and business community in addition to its most successful individuals and companies.

Deloitte is one of the ‘Big 4’ group of professional services firms, along with KPMG, Ernst & Young and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

It is the second largest professional services network in the world by revenue and has 193,000 employees in more than 150 countries.

David Sproul, senior partner and chief executive at Deloitte, said: “It’s fantastic that for the second time in three years Deloitte has been recognised as Professional Services Firm of the year.”

The organisation’s contribution to the Olympic and Paralympic Games may have influenced the judges’ decision. The firm spent more than 750,000 hours planning, delivering and marketing the 2012 Games, which were held in London this summer.

Their eight-year project consisted of “building an organisation the size of a FTSE 100 company, capable of delivering 46 sporting World Championships simultaneously, then dismantling it again in just a few months.”

“I’m also delighted that among our many achievements the judges should recognise Deloitte’s role in making the London 2012 Games happen,” Sproul added.

The four key areas of work within the company are audit, tax, consulting and corporate finance.

There’s good news if you’re looking for finance graduate jobs with a major (and very reputable!) company: applications for Deloitte’s 2013 graduate schemes are now open.

There are no specific deadlines, but as soon as places have been filled the schemes will close – so it is best to start working on your application now!

Are you considering a graduate scheme? Which industry do you want to break into?
