All graduates are 'skilled and talented'
Wednesday, 27 May 2009
A representative from the Prince's Trust has said that there are opportunities for everyone to show off their talents, but they have to be determined to secure a graduate job.
Paul Brown, director of marketing and communications at the charity, responded to negative reports about recruitment by saying that students looking for a graduate job should not be deterred.
Mr Brown encouraged graduates to demonstrate their "motivation and eagerness" to enter the jobs market and to remain resilient in the face of rejections.
He said: "There is an employment opportunity available for [graduates]; they just need the right opportunities to demonstrate what they are good at and the opportunities to discover what options are best for them."
The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development recently warned university leavers that the market for graduate jobs would be competitive, reporting that nearly half of recruiters will not be taking on new degree-holders.
