AGR announce top graduate recruiters
Wednesday, 08 July 2009
The Association of Graduate Recruiters (AGR) has unveiled the names of those who have put considerable effort into getting university leavers into employment this year.
At a ceremony in the Celtic Manor in Newport, Wales, on Monday night (July 6th), computing giant IBM picked up a few awards, most notably one for the Best of the Best graduate employer.
The firm also won a prize for its graduate job literature, which the judges felt showed a great awareness of corporate social responsibility as well as being very helpful.
Other awards went to the Bank of England for their work in graduate development and the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement for its selection process.
Carl Gilleard, chief executive of the AGR, said: "All of our winners have done supremely well in what has been a tricky year for graduate recruitment, especially IBM who has done exceptionally well."
The AGR recently said that graduates who manage to find themselves on a training scheme will see an increased annual wage.
