Accountants 'finding graduate jobs in food sector'

News Article Published: Friday, 03 October 2008   Category: Industry sectors | Professional & financial services

Newly qualified accountants are increasingly finding graduate jobs in the consumer goods sector, it has been claimed.

According to Karen Young, regional director of Hays Senior Finance in Essex and East Anglia, the growing demand for food and drink products in the UK is fuelling this growth.

She said: "In Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk there are a large number of companies operating in this sector, with a mix of both SME (small-to-medium enterprises) and corporate companies."

This has led to an increase in the number of newly qualified finance professionals looking to break into the sector, Ms Young added.

Meanwhile, those looking for something different from a graduate career might want to look at what is on offer from research firm Iposos Mori.

According to the company, it offers graduate jobs which allow people to "influence both society and business".

Its current recruitment campaign is aimed at dispelling some of the myths about the sector, MRWeb.com reported.ADNFCR-1068-ID-18810564-ADNFCR
