Published: Wednesday, 22 September 2010   Category: Science, Engineering and IT

A prominent specialist software firm is continuing to offer graduate placements despite the ongoing impact of the economic crisis, it has been confirmed.

Absoft has recently recruited four young university leavers - Omarra Bradley, Scott Gove, Petra Kirch and Robert MacDonald - as trainee consultants in the energy, manufacturing, and higher and further education sectors.

The Aberdeen-based company has now boosted its staff to 65 and managing director Ian Mechie revealed that it is looking to "further grow the business".

"Each year, graduates bring fresh ideas and commitment to Absoft and despite the economic challenges facing industry in the last two years, we have continued to expand our staff roll with quality people," he said.

Audrey Bowker, HR director at Absoft, also praised the new recruits for their strong CVs and for gaining knowledge of the roles they applied for through research.

Absoft was founded in 1991 and currently works with a number of UK exploration and production companies, boosting its presence in the service sector.
