A leading business consultancy firm has increased the number of graduate opportunities at the organisation and is now set to hire over 1,000 university-leavers.

Deloitte, the United Kingdom's leading graduate employer, will also create 100 A Level-entry roles, for people put off attending university due to the high fees.

The company is also set to admit more students to its summer vacation scheme, which offers students going into their final year of university seven weeks of paid work experience in audit, tax or consulting.

The vacation scheme admitted 130 people in 2010; next year, that number will rise to 160 and the target for 2012 is an entry of 240 students.

John Kerr, managing partner at Deloitte, said the aim of the recruitment drive was to ensure the company's future was bright and varied.

"This autumn, we took on over 1,000 graduates from over 70 different universities and we are working hard to further extend our reach."

Deloitte is the world's largest professional services organisation, it offers audit, tax, consulting, enterprise risk, and financial advisory services to worldwide companies.
