Flexible working requests rejected

Two-thirds of employers rarely or never accept flexible working requests, according to the results of a recent survey.

Only one in four employees is now required to wear a suit to work, according to a recent survey.

Wealthiest firms are 'greener'

New research has indicated that FTSE-listed companies are more environmentally friendly than their less wealthy counterparts.

A study of more than 1,000 companies by Adecco has discovered 52 per cent of FTSE firms choose to recycle their electronic equipment, with only 39 per cent of non-listed firms doing so, reports Recruiter magazine. read more...

Fingerprint technology to monitor employees

Employers could soon be keeping a closer eye on staff at work – with the aid of fingerprint technology.

A pilot scheme carried out in six stores of the Budgens supermarket chain has been deemed a success, with two stores employing a total of 25 staff saving over £10,000 over 12 months, according to Personnel Today. read more...
