WHO WE ARE

Wolseley UK is part of Wolseley plc, the world’s largest trade distributor of plumbing and heating products and a leading supplier of construction materials.  Wolseley PLC is a FTSE 100 company operating in 11 countries, with 3,100 locations and 40,000 people worldwide and an annual turnover of £12.7bn.

Our brands each supply distinct customer groups and stock a wide-range of products including: boilers, radiators, sanitary ware, pumps, valves, air conditioning, refrigeration and drainage.

Our extensive branch network is supported by a sophisticated supply chain and central teams based from our head offices in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire and Ripon, North Yorkshire.

WHO WE WANT

There is no single characteristic that we’re looking for in a graduate. However, we believe you will flourish on our programme if you enjoy learning through hands-on practical experience, in a customer focused environment, where no two days are the same.

You will need to have a strong work ethic, enjoy working as part of a team, and have the ability to lead and build a team through regular communication and great interpersonal skills.

You will have a track record of achievement, drive and ambition, flexibility to relocate and a full driving licence.

Wolseley UK managers are customer-oriented and determined to provide prompt and efficient service. They are quick to take responsibility for themselves and their team and aren’t afraid to seize ownership of a project or initiative and to see it through to its successful conclusion. They like to meet people and have the potential to succeed.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

An 18 month training programme in Sales will involve placements in each of the key business areas.

Starting with 3 months in branch, after which you will experience all aspects of the sales function spending time shadowing Key Account Managers, working with small to medium sized accounts and gaining a clearer understanding of the sales and marketing plan for the business.
Throughout the training programme you will be given responsibility for commercially focused project work and become an integral part of the team. At the end of the programme you will be on track to becoming a successful Key Account Manager and you’ll take responsibility for an area yourself.

THE PROGRAMME

Our Management Training programme is 18 months long and will provide you with real practical experience from day one. Through hands-on interactive placements, regular formal training sessions, working with our managers, and completing business projects, you’ll learn the foundations of our business and develop the skills to take you further in the organisation.

You’ll be an important member of our team right from the start and you’ll be encouraged to roll-up your sleeves, make decisions, use your initiative and put your newly acquired skills into real-time, real-life practise.
