West Oxfordshire Locality Group and Buckinghamshire New University
Weight Loss using IT Project Leader (KTP Associate)
Fixed term contract for 30 months £19,500 - £21,000 plus generous pensions package, plus training package (worth £5,000).
The Company: West Oxfordshire Locality Group (WOLG) is a GP Practice consortium committed to finding sustainable weight loss methods which will benefit their patients. This will enable the practices to divert resources to other patient needs and thus become more responsive to the community’s overall health.
The Role: You will establish a unique ‘tool kit’ for weight reduction, including a manual and use of IT resources such as texting, websites and emails. The ‘tool kit’ will be tested over eight GP Practices and compared with normal treatment. It will involve working closely with patients and developing new learning materials based heavily on modern methods of communication. You will be based in a GP Practice in West Oxfordshire and be expected to travel to other local practices to work with patients.
The Candidate: You should possess a first class or upper second class first degree or a masters degree in either a health related or information technology discipline. In either case you will need to demonstrate your ability to relate to the other discipline. You will need to be self motivated and enthusiastic, and able to work a part of an innovative team.
