Job summary

Pat Munro is a privately owned multi-discipline contractor based in Alness in the Highlands of Scotland. Founded in 1945, the company has gained a wealth of experience in all manner of contracts and has grown steadily to become a recognised force in both the civil engineering and utility sectors.

Working with our Waste Services Manager, this post will involve the identification, and evaluation, of current operations and new opportunities to grow our Waste Services Dept. This position will suit a confident, ambitious applicant, who has the ability to research, commercial analyse and evaluate business prospects within a good support network.

Job Description

Position

The initial project is to evaluate the viability of improved segregation techniques to reduce the volume of waste to landfill. This will require a high degree of self-motivation, to carry out market research into the options available for segregation and waste disposal within the waste industry, and to develop basic financial models to prove the economic viability of new installations etc.

You will be based at our office at Lotland Street, Inverness, although you will be required to travel to meet clients and suppliers, as necessary. Working as part of the Waste services team, you will be directly answerable to the Waste Manager, the company Accountant and, ultimately, to the directors of the company.

Job Responsibilities

·         Gain understanding of company services, and nature of market

·         Gain understanding of operational management & processes

·         Market research & financial modelling of new and existing operations

·         Direct sales and client Liaison

·         Assist with Admin and Management duties

·         Assist with management and implementation of new activities.

Skills / Experience

The successful applicant will require the following skills:

·         Enthusiastic, confident and ambitious nature.

·         Good mathematical, financial and analytical skills.

·         Good communication skills, with both company clients and other company personnel

·         Have an aptitude for multi-tasking and efficiently structure daily tasks

·         Be computer literate with experience in word, excel, etc

·         The ability to assist and co-operate with other administration personnel

·         The ability to promote a good image of self and the company

·         Flexibility and willingness to undertake tasks outwith the key job responsibilities

·         Be trustworthy, friendly, timeous and reliable.

·          Have a current driving license

Qualifications

This position will require a qualification in a Business, Commercial or Financial Management related discipline. It will require a methodical approach towards the preparation of business plans and proposal. Excellent computer and commercial skills are essential.
