Romania is relatively unknown despite it being home to the stunning Carpathian mountains and the Black Sea coast. Our volunteers soon become ardent fans of the country. The Oyster volunteer program is located in the elegant city city of Brasov offering nightlife, mountain walks, skiing (in winter) and Draculas Castle.
Oyster offer two quite different and demanding volunteering opportunities. You can either work with abandoned and sick children or help to rehabilitate Brown Bears in East Europe’s largest Bear sanctuary.
Work with Children
Give abandoned, sick and disabled children the chance to smile, play and laugh working as a Child Care volunteer. Oyster Volunteers help in a variety of children's institutions in Brasov including family homes (orphanages) and hospitals from 1 to 3 months
Work with Brown Bears
Work from two weeks to three months at Eastern Europe’s first bear sanctuary located in the shadow of the Carpathians, to give abused brown bears a new lease of life and learn to hibernate. You need to be passionate about animals and enjoy being outdoors.
