A three year graduate programme, complete with development opportunities, including enrolment on the Discovery OPEN Programme as well as ISMM training and support for additional qualifications where necessary. In three year’s time you will be expected to be in your first managerial role. There will be opportunities for incremental pay reviews throughout the programme, based on meritocracy.

WHAT’S THE JOB?

The overarching aim of the Training & Development Marketing Assistant role is to implement a marketing strategy focusing on creating opportunities within our training and development division. The successful graduate will focus on creating sales opportunities through actively marketing our training and development programmes to leads and prospects, including but not limited to, the OPEN Programme, Sales Winners, closed programmes, development centres, coaching & mentoring etc. The role will also involve communication with existing clients and partners to promote and increase awareness of the breadth and excellence of the development services we deliver.

The role requires a person who is commercially minded, highly professional, forward thinking and driven to implement projects that will play a fundamental part in the growth and development of the company.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

  • Implement a marketing strategy to maximise opportunities to support businesses to become more profitable through developing people and growing their own talent.
  • Implement all marketing schedules to include (as required) print; online; social media; email marketing; direct mail; PR; advertising; signage and photography
  • Produce written briefs / copy / blogs for purposes including print; online; social networking; email marketing; direct mail; PR; advertising; signage and photography
  • Be responsible for posting regular and relevant client facing content to Discovery’s online marketing channels, including the website and social networking sites
  • Work with the in-house database and CRM systems to ensure that, from a marketing perspective, it is optimised (the data is clean, segmented and up to date) and use the systems for mailing list extractions and analysis
  • Establish strong relationships with our clients and prospects
  • Monitor, measure and evaluate all marketing activity
  • Gather and collate feedback, testimonials and case studies and share using relevant channels to further develop Discovery’s profile
  • Act as a representative and advocate of Discovery ADR Group and undertake additional duties as required

OUR IDEAL PERSON

Essential:

  • Educated to degree level with a minimum of a 2:2
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Highly literate (written and spoken English) and numerate
  • IT literate including working knowledge of databases
  • Good commercial awareness
  • Possess and use initiative
  • Ability to prioritise
  • Excellent communication, inter-personal skills and high standards of presentation
  • Be flexible, adaptable, reliable and wholly committed to doing the best job possible
  • Strong interest in the discipline of marketing
  • Interest in the recruitment sector
  • Live in Birmingham or be willing to relocate
  • Full driving licence required

Desirable:

  • Evidence of helping to develop an organisation’s revenue, market and / or sales
  • Evidence of helping to develop an organisation’s profile
  • Recognised business qualification or training
  • Knowledge of the role of marketing in business today
