What do we do?

We are one of the leading firms of specialist patent and trade mark attorneys in Europe, with 150 years’ experience in all aspects of Intellectual Property law. Our clients range from the IP departments of multinational companies to the owners of small firms and private individuals.

Where do you come in?

You will work closely with company directors on varied projects. Some of your duties will include: 

  • Discussing inventions and processes with inventors or manufacturers and ascertaining whether they are likely to succeed in being granted patents
  • Studying and analysing technical documents including previously published patent documents to assess in what ways an invention is new and innovative
  • Advising on chances of success and predicted legal costs
  • Preparing responses to reports from patent examiners
  • Dealing with patent licence negotiations.  

We will support you as you work towards your professional qualifications in Intellectual Property law.

What do you need to demonstrate?

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Electronic Engineering and will have achieved a 2:1 classification or above.

They will have strong A-Level results (minimum of BBB). They will be lively, professional and enthusiastic with a willingness to learn and to work towards a professional qualification.
