Trainee / Graduate Methods Engineer (Design / Process)

Our client is an Australian based group, quoted on the Australian stock exchange. With over 2,900 employees located throughout Australia, New Zealand, China and the UK, they are a leading manufacturing company within these areas.
The company are a manufacturer of wear resistant castings made of steel and iron. The casting operation produces parts that weigh up to 20 tons. These parts are used in the manufacture of grinding, crushing and shot-blasting equipment with the power, cement and general engineering markets.
They are currently seeking to recruit a Trainee Methods Engineer to join their manufacturing team at the Scunthorpe site.
The successful candidate will be actively involved in providing a simulation service aimed at improving their manufacturing processes to enhance added value and satisfy customer’s needs. To achieve this, you will be expected to maintain close contact with sales & marketing, product development & manufacturing personnel therefore strong communication skills are essential.
The position would ideally suit a newly qualified engineer, who is enthusiastic and able to work on their own initiative whilst successfully contributing to a busy team. You should be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of computer design simulations (Solidworks) along with CAD/CAM and computer modelling simulations (Magmasoft or Unigraphics)
It is essential that you are able to work in a manufacturing environment and have knowledge of design engineering with the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
Located in Scunthorpe, this role is commutable from areas such as Grimsby, Kingston upon Hull, Doncaster, Beverley, Selby, Goole, Hatfield and Gainsborough.
