EXPIRY NOTICE: This job has now expired and will not be accepting any more applications.

Our general management programme is our pipeline for future senior managers. Join the programme and you will gain a thorough understanding of the operational aspects of our businesses, then concentrate on developing specialist expertise.

We believe that by giving our managers a comprehensive grounding in customer service, commercial and business issues, we enable them to make a much greater contribution either in general management careers or in our functional specialisms, such as marketing and human resources. Most of our general management placements are UK based but the scope to be placed overseas is growing. Three of our 2005 intake of general management graduates were offered international placements in 2006 in Direct Energy our North American service provider. These placements were based on the graduate having continued exceptional performance.

Degree requirements

Our assessment process is designed to identify candidates who can demonstrate strengths in the following competencies:

Understanding of complex business and commercial issues

Ability to quickly gain new skills and knowledge

Adaptability in a changing environment

Planning and problem solving skills

Exceptional customer service

Experience of effective delegation, collaborative working and people management skills

Resilience.

2:2 degree is also required

The Application Process

We use online application forms and not CV based recruitment due to the nature of our competency based assessment process. There is an opportunity to record your work experience and extra-curricular activities within the application form. In addition, there is space to provide evidence that you possess the skills we are looking for, not something you would necessarily include in a CV.

All submitted applications are read in full, so if you invest the time in completing an application, we promise to spend the time reading it.

Applications accepted until the end of July 2007 - keep in mind that places on the scheme are already being offered and we would encourage you to submit your application as early as possible

Apply online - we'll respond via email within four days

You can book your own assessment centre timings directly online, to suit your schedule

We'll notify you about the results of your assessment centre within 24 hours

So get the ball rolling and click apply now
