Test and Development Engineer / Mechanical Engineer / Electrical Engineer

Our client is the UK operation of an Italian owned group, with sales across Europe.  The company manufactures refrigerated display cabinets for the food retail industry and has some of the major companies in this sector as their customers. 

Due to increased business levels, our client’s research and development laboratory is expanding and they are looking for a self-motivated Test and Development Engineer to assist in this growth. The main purpose of this role is to work within a small team and carry out analyses using a range of tests on refrigeration cabinets producing analytical reports. Within this role, your main responsibilities will include acting as a project leader, preparing cabinets to be tested and installing cabinets into the laboratory. You will also be expected to connect datalogging instrumentation, carry out data collection and data analysis and produce reports during development stages.  

The successful candidate will have hold a higher level qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering and will ideally have worked previously in a similar position. A self-starter with an ability drive projects forward, you will possess excellent analytical and practical skills and you will have had previous exposure to a laboratory testing environment. It is essential that you are IT literate (to include Microsoft Office packages) and you will have the ability to coordinate activities with good planning and organisational skills. Within this role you will be asked to travel throughout the UK and occasionally Europe.
